Stupid Never Dies Beginner Guide — Tips & Tricks

Getting Started8 Essential Tips

Welcome, zombie! Stupid Never Dies is a Blazing Fast Growth 3D Action RPG where you play as Davy, the weakest zombie in the monster world. This guide covers essential tips and mechanics to help you survive the dungeon and save Julia.

Game Overview

Developed by GPTRACK50 (studio led by former Capcom producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi), Stupid Never Dies is a roguelike-style action RPG launching in Fall 2026 for PC (Steam) and PlayStation 5. You play as Davy, a timid zombie who must descend into a deadly dungeon, consume monster cores to transform into powerful forms, and defeat the King of Monsters to save the frozen human girl Julia. The game features 11 transformable Styles, the Style Eat system, Body Hack customization, and fast-paced combat with a unique pop-punk aesthetic.

Essential Tips for Beginners

🍽️
01

Master the Style Eat System

The core mechanic of Stupid Never Dies. As Zombie Davy, bite enemies to consume their monster cores and gain new Styles during a run. Each Style transforms your entire moveset.

Always look for opportunities to Style Eat early in a run. The Zombie form is your foundation — use it to secure your first transformation, then chain kills to maintain momentum.

02

Watch the Time Limit

Each dungeon run is time-pressured. You need to balance exploration with progression. Don't get stuck in one area — keep moving forward.

The time pressure is a deliberate design choice. It forces aggressive play and prevents farming. Prioritize clearing the path to the next layer over hunting every enemy in a room.

🔄
03

Prepare for Full Reset Each Run

Each dungeon run is a fresh start. You lose all Styles and progress when you die or complete a run. Only persistent upgrades (OT Gear, skills) carry over.

Embrace the roguelike reset. Each run is a new opportunity to experiment with different Styles and builds. Focus on learning enemy patterns and improving your fundamentals rather than getting attached to a single loadout.

💥
04

Use Davy Burst Strategically

Davy Burst is a temporary power-up mode that significantly boosts your combat capabilities. Save it for tough situations.

Don't waste Davy Burst on regular enemies. Save it for bosses, elite enemies, or when you're surrounded and need breathing room. The cooldown means you'll want it available for critical moments.

🛡️
05

Learn the Stupid Parry

The Stupid Parry is a defensive mechanic that lets you deflect enemy attacks and create openings. Timing is everything.

Practice the parry timing against basic enemies early on. A successful parry can stagger enemies, giving you a free window to attack or use Style Eat. Mastering this will carry you through the entire game.

🎭
06

Experiment with All Styles

Don't stick to one Style. Each of the 11 forms has unique strengths. Some excel at crowd control (Golem), others at single-target damage (Demon) or sustain (Vampire).

The beauty of the Style system is that you can adapt to any situation. If a particular room or boss is giving you trouble, try a different approach. Werewolf for aggressive rushdown, Harpy for ranged safety, Golem for clearing trash mobs.

07

Visit Hub Facilities Between Runs

Between dungeon runs, visit Frank's Database (tracking/rewards), Bessie Burger (Zombie Skills), and Ink on the Brain (OT Gear management).

These hub facilities provide permanent progression. Check Frank's Database for completion rewards, invest in Zombie Skills at Bessie Burger, and optimize your OT Gear loadout at Ink on the Brain before each run.

08

Invest in Body Hack Upgrades Early

Overtech Gear from the Body Hack system provides permanent upgrades that persist between runs. Prioritize these early.

Focus on OT Gear that complements your preferred playstyle. Head mods for awareness, arm mods for damage, leg mods for mobility. A well-rounded loadout will make every run smoother.
